» Dr. Susan Rattan

Susan Rattan is a Senior Research Scientist at Acadience, where she leads and supports research focused on early literacy and vocabulary assessment development. She brings over 15 years of experience conducting applied research that bridges theory and practice, with a particular focus on developing and validating assessment tools and interventions that are practical, efficient, and instructionally meaningful for educators.

Susan earned her PhD in School Psychology at the University of Connecticut. Prior to joining  Acadience, she held tenured faculty positions at the University of Rhode Island and Duquesne University, where she taught graduate-level courses in cognitive and academic assessment, literacy development, and academic intervention. Her research has been supported by institutional and federal grants including from the Institute of Education Sciences and has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals such as Journal of Educational Psychology, Learning Disabilities Research and Practice, Exceptional Children, and The Elementary School Journal.
